Seaver started his career off with the New York Mets winning the 1967 National League Rookie of the year award. He followed that up by leading the Mets to their first world series title in 1969 followed that up with 3 Cy Young Awards and election into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992. Many consider him one of the best pitchers starting pitcher in the history of Baseball. Met GM Frank Cahhen would leave Seaver as an unprotected player on January 20, 1977 thinking no one would claim a 39 year old pitcher. Well the White Sox claimed Seaver in a free-agent compensation draft. this left Seaver two choices retire or report to Chicago. As we all know he elected to go to Chicago and would play two and a half season there and win his 300th win. Offer jersey is one of his first jerseys as it is a 1983 tagged Sand Knit with the original 41 but in 83 it was worn by Dick Tidrow and this was Tidrow's only season with the White Sox. You can see Tidrow under the name Seaver. This was a common practice with some low budget clubs. Sand-Knit tagging size 46 and Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Chicago White Sox. Inside back tail is two sewn in strio tags 83 46Z and second tag Tidrow. Jersey is signed on the front by Tom Seaver. JSA LOA
